The starting signal of the next world championship will take place in Jerez. The
motorcycling world championship 2010 will be opened at the speedway track of this
city. According to the provisional calendar announced by the international federation,
there will be many innovations and the championship will consist of 17 races.
Since the foundation in 1985, it has been one of the most requested speedways
for the whole year. This area has more than 3,000 sun hours a year, an essential
factor for many competition teams. Once the season is over, they unflaggingly
search for speedways in this part of the world so that they can test their machines
- as due to the weather,it is difficult to find a speedway in Europe with this
wonderful temperature.
Other important reason which explains the continuous activity at these sport facilities
is the very characteristics of the tracks. This makes it be very technical both
for riders and mechanics as there are fast, medium-speed and slow curves. All
this is quite often requested by competition teams.
On this premise, apart from the use in competitions, the speedway track of Jerez
has more than 260 days a year for rent. Formula 1 teams,
motorcycling world championship, superbike,formula 3, car manufacturer, driving
schools, incentive enterprises or service enterprises choose it with
several aims such as:
developing competition machines.
presenting trade vehicles.
developing learning programmes.
Filming commercials.
Nowadays, the speedway is a tourist reference not only for Cadiz Bay but also
for the province and the whole Andalusia. Thanks to the competitions at these
sport facilities, it is achieved a promotion to be received in all the countries
which broadcast the most important sport events. It also involves a positive
impact on the image diffusion of this area.
